My parents were High School Sweethearts—Valedictorians of their respective classes at Morrisville High School in Southwest Missouri. My father, an accountant by education, worked most of his career with City Utilities of Springfield, Missouri. My mother also worked as an accountant early in her career. I remember her talking about working for Johnny Morris early on, then at Queen City Warehouse for several years.
I can still remember the house I started in. It was initially owned by my Grandfather on my Mother's side as a rental property but was sold to my parents before I was born. I remember my neighbor being one of my earliest childhood friends, and walking to school together.
My parents were married twice (to each other) for six years before I was born. I'll have to explain this more when I start talking about divorce... Unfortunately, things happened, and their marriage ended when I was about six years old. I don't remember much of what happened during those years, but I do remember and continue to think about the aftermath of that situation.
